MamaCircle helps you find and connect with other parents nearby. Meeting someone through an app, rather than through people you already know, carries some real risk that this disclaimer asks you to understand and take responsibility for before you use the app to arrange in-person meetups.
We do not conduct background checks
MamaCircle does not run criminal background checks, identity verification against government records, or any other vetting on any user, The "Verified" badge (a shield) means only that the person logged in with Vipps, which confirms a phone number registered to a Vipps account; it is not a criminal background check or proof of who someone is in person. Do not treat any badge, profile detail, or anything another user tells you as a substitute for your own judgment.
You're responsible for your own safety, and your child's
Before meeting anyone from MamaCircle in person, or before an in-person meetup that involves your child:
- Meet for the first time in a public place, not your home or theirs.
- Consider telling a friend or family member where you're going and who you're meeting.
- Trust your own judgment. If something feels wrong, you're not obligated to continue a conversation, a meetup, or a relationship with anyone on MamaCircle.
- Never share your home address, financial information, or your child's full legal name, school, or exact routine with someone you've only met through the app.
Reporting keeps everyone safer
If someone's behavior makes you uncomfortable, or violates the Community Guidelines, please report it using the in-app reporting tools. Reports are reviewed by a human moderator, not resolved automatically. Blocking is also always available and takes effect immediately for you.
Automated support for spotting distress in Groups and Q&A
Not active yet as of 15 August 2026. The mechanism described below is built, but the automated check itself is currently switched off pending a vendor decision — nothing is being scanned by it today. This section describes how it's designed to work once (and if) it's turned on, so the disclosure is in place before that happens, not because it's already running.
Posts, comments, and Q&A questions/answers you write may be checked by an automated language-analysis tool for signs of serious personal distress (for example, language associated with self-harm). This is separate from, and narrower than, our general content moderation: it exists only to help a human moderator notice and personally check in on someone who may be struggling, never to take any automatic action. Nothing is ever auto-deleted, auto-suspended, or sent to the flagged person by this tool itself — a real person always reviews a flag before anyone does anything about it. This kind of tool can also be wrong in both directions: it can miss real distress, and it can flag ordinary venting as if it were a crisis, which is one reason a human always looks at it first. Private direct messages are not scanned by this tool. If you're struggling, please also see the support resources available throughout the app (Chat, Groups, Forum, Profile) — you don't have to wait for anyone else to notice.
No warranty
This disclaimer doesn't replace the "No warranty" and "Limitation of liability" sections already in the Terms of Service — MamaCircle is provided "as is," and Hafmula Group is not responsible for the actions of other users you meet through the app, in the app or in person.
Changes to this disclaimer
If we make material changes to this disclaimer, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify users in the app.
